Five Spartans ran the Twin Lakes 20 race in Milton Keynes on Sunday. PETE SMITH was in the top 100 at 87th and won the men 60 plus category with 2 hours 42 minutes 22 seconds (2:42:22). Next came HARRIET SMITH and SAM MAIDENS two senior women Spartans whose marathon preparation seems to be going well. Harriet was 205th in 3 hours 5 minutes exactly and Sam 248th in 3:13:09.
MICHAEL O’KEEFE’s hard work over the last few months is paying off. He was 253rd in 3:14:37. WENDY THARANI continued her recovery from injury with 3:55:47.
The TWIN LAKES 20 is a stunning 10-mile or 20-mile race that will have prepared many for a Spring half or full marathon experience without having to run on their own.
MATTHEW NEWTON ran the ten mile TWIN LAKES option in 1 hour 54 minutes 42 seconds.
Rome Marathon
They say running “Run Rome the Marathon” is like running in an open-air museum and Spartan ROB WRIGHT ran it on Sunday. He said it was brilliant but a tough course with lots of cobblestones. Not a PB (personal best) this time but a sub 4 achievement with 3 hours 56 minutes 7 seconds (3:56:07).
