Three Fairlands Valley Spartans were in the top ten of the second midweek league event. Forty one Spartans made the trip to Watford where ANDREW PATTERSON was third in 34 minutes 53 seconds; ADRIAN BUSOLINI fifth in 35:08 and SIMON FRASER sixth in 35:13.
CHRISTINE LATHWELL was third woman in 42:24 and SAMANTHA-PRETTY-CONNORS seventh in 43:14. Three other Spartan women SUZY HAWKINS 48:41; GEORGIE HOOPER 49:26 and HARRIET SMITH 49:38 got under 50 minutes on the tough course.
251 finished the 10K race which was a mixture of surfaced paths and cross country in Cassiobury Park, Whippendell Wood and on Jacotts Hill.
Fairlands Valley Spartans came third in the race.
Royal 10 5k in The Netherlands
ASHLEY JOHNSON ran the Royal 10 5k race in the Netherlands and was second lady home! She ran just under the 20 minute mark with her chip time being 19:52.
She said that she didn’t know what to expect from the course and so took it easy for the first 1k, she then realised that it was pretty flat and the course took her through some beautiful woods which were lovely and shaded, at this point she sped up and came in with her brilliant time!
Not only did she get 2nd place on the podium but she also received a running shoe trophy and flowers.

PB Success for the weekend of the 3rd June:
MARTIN JACOB ran his 5k PB in Stevenage with 23:07.
LINDA GEORGE ran her first ever sub 30 parkrun in a personal best (PB) of 28:31.
FRANCOIS SWANEPOEL ran a new PB of 21:40 at the Gunpowder parkrun.
