FAIRLANDS VALLEY CHALLENGE 2012 was a HUGE success, and that’s all down to YOU … by supporting our event this year, and for the past 17 years! Our race directors would like to take the opportunity to say a very big thank you to all the runners, walkers, spectators, stalls and service providers, volunteers and race officials who came down to spend a very nice Sunday in July with us (we were blessed to have great weather!).
PROVISIONAL results from our 2012 event are here: FVC2012
We stress that these results are provisional. Please check through and let us know if you spot any amendments that we need to make. We are relying on our runners, and especially our walkers, to let us know their START TIMES if they started earlier or later than the advertised times below. This will allow us to correct the positions and finish times of all entrants to ensure that our results are as accurate, full and fair as possible.
If you notice anything about your time which is not quite correct, or can provide your own recorded finish time, we would be very grateful to hear from you. Please contact Mr Paul Holgate by email at paul.holgate@bt.comto let him know.
With your help, we hope to finalise our results by the middle of this week. Thank you very much for your assistance, in advance.

08:00 – 08:15 – Walk 50K Ultra
08:45 – Trail Run 50K Ultra *Massed Start

Now entered the 50k ultra… Looking forward to this! I’d like number 74 please.
Excellent Matt – I believe that number 74 is now yours! Hope it brings you luck on your first ultra
Thanks Liam! Do I pick the number and map etc up on the day?
Yep! We’ll provide you with all your navigational tools on the day, so you don’t need to do anything for two weeks. Get ready though … it will be a bit of an adventure!
I really want to do one but don’t know whether to do the 12 or the 18… hmmm….
What do you feel like doing RhiRhi? If you only want a nice short run, 12 miles is perfectly manageable. If you’ve done a half marathon and fancy a natural step up/challenge, then 18 miles is a good option. Whatever you choose, you’ll have a blast
Well I did a 10-12 mile run a few months ago and it wasn’t that hard so in the spirit of it being a “challenge” and all that I’m edging towards the 18 miler. Thing is I’ve only being running for a relatively short time (since the end of May) and I just don’t wanna get ahead of myself, but I do love a challenge
oh and I meant to say that I’ve done a lot of training since I did that 10 – 12 mile run, so I think I might be able to handle 18… maybe.
Well done TP, AJ & PB
Thanks GB – and thanks to everybody who helped yesterday (and during race preparation) – we’ve received some excellent feedback about how fabulous and well organised the event was, how delicious the bread pudding and burgers tasted and how friendly the checkpoint helpers were! Of course we’d expect nothing less from an event hosted by the UK’s Best Running Club!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!
