Where:
Letchworth Outdoor Pool
Letchworth Garden City
Hertfordshire SG6 4UF
UK

Freedom Tri are holding their annual Aquathlon on Sunday 2nd September. Did this last year and it was so much fun and well organised and senior events are only £15 for non BTF members (£13 if you are).
Entries for 2012 now open via www.freedomtri.org.uk
Duck n Dash:  400m swim & 6k run

Drake n Dash: 600m swim & 6k run

Team Relay Ducklings (age 8-16)

The swim is in the 50m outdoor pool in Letchworth (kept at a nice warm 24 degrees, no wet suit needed!!) and then 2 laps of the Norton common for the 6k off road run, which will give some nice pre-cross country season training.

This will be great day so would be great to see some more spartans taking part this year.

If you don’t feel like doing both a swim and run, why not just do 1!? We had 1 relay team last year so if you fancy doing the swim but not the run, or want to do the run but not the swim, then please post here and we can help get some Spartan teams together and get a little competition going!?

This is from freedom:

The FreedomTri ‘DuckNDash’ Aquathlon at 09h00 on Sunday 02 September 2012 (Letchworth Outdoor Pool & Norton Common) is now open for entry via: www.freedomtri.org.uk where all race information can be viewed. Race Limit for 2012 has been increased to 300 – expected to sell-out this year. In addition to ‘The Duck’ (400m swim/6k run) and ‘The Drake’ (600m swim/6k run) there are categories for juniors from 08-16 years plus a Relay event for Swim/Run teams of two. The Relay is particularly good for company sports/social clubs, friendly challenges or charity drives so please tell anyone you know that may fancy having a go at this fun, local event ‘with a difference’. For all Spartans that have thought about dipping a toe in the water of Triathlon, the DND is the perfect start-point… and one which NHRR have firmly got into over the last 2 years! FreedomTri have attracted all kinds of competitors from 75-year-old ‘completers’ to GB Team Duathlon & Triathlon competitors, so at the ‘top end’ the DuckNDash is a testing race and a great summer target if you need to do a bit of work on your swimming.  Entry fees have been maintained at 2011 levels (£13 BTF, £15 non-BTF) making this one of the best-value multisport events around.
