Mid Week League - 2009
All the Mid Week League information you need is below. This year, following our fantastic promotion last year we found ourselves in Division 1 with 5 other clubs from Herts or Essex. We raced 4 events (plus the Mob Match which is on 15th July) of approximately 6 miles. Well we asked all our members to help support the club and its attempts to stay in Division 1 of the MWL and your response was FANTASTIC - and made all the difference. The final race, at St. Albans saw a superb 75 finishers overall and the excellent turn out by the ladies was just enough to pip Orion ladies by 10 scoring positions on the night for a valuable extra point from 5th position, while the men squeezed out Barnet & District by just 3 scoring positions on the night for another extra point that made all the difference in beating B&D overall by just 1 point. One runner less in either the ladies or mens race - or even a handful of race positions less from those running could have prevented our survival. VERY WELL DONE to every Spartan who rallied to the club's call and made all the difference. League table following all races
